One of my favorite things about Kajabi is their transparency. Since becoming a member in December 2016, I've noticed how they always make it a point to:

  • invite suggestions and feedback
  • improve and add features (for the same price)
  • communicate their plans for what's next

The "Old" Solutions for Updates and Feedback

Prior to now, Kajabi used ProductBoard software to collect feedback

To share updates on new features and progress leading up to new releases, they used this Kajabi-based Changelog. Again, HERE's the link and a screenshot but presumably it will be shut down with the advent of their new solution for feedback and updates.

The "New" Solution for Updates and Feedback

On 10-03-19, Kajabi announced their new feature: a Customer Feedback Portal! I'd love to explain everything the new Kajabi feature contains and give you a little tour so you'll be encouraged to use it yourself!

As Kajabi says: "Customer feedback and co-creation is huge part of our product culture. We believe the key to your success lies in us understanding who you are and which new ideas will empower you to continue to build more success in your business... So if there's a feature you'd like to see added to Kajabi, or you just want to share a thought on how to improve things, now you have a whole new level of access!"

What Is Kajabi's Customer Feedback Portal & How Do I Find It?

To get to the new Customer Feedback Portal, simply click the Feedback button in the top right of your dashboard.

You'll be taken right to it and you'll see the 3 main buttons you can click on the left:

1. Dashboard - where you can submit a request (please read this entire post before you do),  see what's new, use sliders to indicate your own level of priority, and see the status of your priorities* ...

... and ideas suggested by others

*Your Priorities are things you've indicated support for. Please keep reading ...

2. Releases - a list of all the recent Kajabi releases

As you read each release, they'll turn white (as Opt-Ins Report did in the above image) or you can click the "Mark All as Read" button

3. What's Coming - lists of "What We Are Planning" and "What We Are Building"

Then there are 2 other features you should check out. On the top right of each page are a Search box and a User icon.

You can use Search to easily find the topics you're most interested in. For instance, here's what a search on "blog" brings up:

If you click on the User icon, you can set your email preferences:

This is where you set your own notification preferences. You can either untick specific updates or opt out of all emails. Make sure and configure this so you don't receive a bunch of email auto-updates that you don't want. Me, I love to stay in the loop!

How to Effectively Use the NEW Customer Feedback Portal in Kajabi

If everyone just jumps in and adds suggestions willy nilly without reading through what's already there, this portal will lose its effectiveness and, honestly, probably create a lot of unnecessary work for Kajabi employees.

So let's use it responsibly, shall we? 😂👍🏻

Here are some suggestions:

1. Click on Dashboard, Releases, and What's Coming and read through all of it. For real.

2. Click the "thumbs up" icon aka "I want this" next to each feature that a. is a priority for you personally and for your clients and customers, and b. you want to receive updates on or stay in the loop on.

3. If you see a feature suggestion that's important to you, click on it, scroll down to read the comments, then add your helpful input if any.

4. If you DON'T see a feature suggestion for something that's important to you - and once you've made sure your NEW idea isn't already listed - and you've made sure that Kajabi doesn't already HAVE the feature - then click Make a Suggestion from the Dashboard.

But I Don't Have Time for All That. I Need To Get In, Get Out

Well, then bookmark it and come back later, lol. It only takes about 15 minutes. And you can see how it will get convoluted, confusing, and unmanageable if Kajabi's thousands of customers all jumped in and gave their random suggestions, right?

What I noticed in my run-through of the whole thing is that 1. there are several duplicate suggestions, and 2. there are requests for features that already exist in Kajabi.

Let's help Kajabi out here and do it right. The more concise and helpful we are in our requests, the better they can build what we ask for. #winwin 💙

Want to Learn More About Kajabi's "Feedback" Feature?

As always, I got ya' covered! HERE is Kajabi's blog post about Feedback and HERE is their Facebook post. Both of them have a video from Kajabi's own Jeremy and Allie. They also talk about what will be done with all our suggestions and how requests are prioritized so check 'em out!

HERE is a fun video explaining the new feature via a #TipTuesday. Lastly, THIS is the Help file on how to use the new feature. Enjoy!
